How to Create Vegetarian Gluten Free Recipes

Vegetarian gluten free recipes are necessary for people wishing to eliminate wheat products from their diets and sometimes this is out of pure choice. Most often the diet is chosen because of health concerns and symptoms. There are some people who do have celiac disease and for these people it is mostly impossible for their bodies to handle the digestion and processing of food products that contain gluten. Celiac disease can result in hair loss, dry skin, rashes, bloating, and malnutrition. You can not teach your body to accept glutens and you can not use smaller amounts of gluten containing products. You can only deal with this problem by staying away from all foods that have these gluten proteins included.

There may be as many as 2 in 500 persons who all have celiac disease and many more have intolerances or allergies to gluten products. There is also a large percentage of the population who state that they feel better when they remove wheat products from their diets for a little while.

People who have problems with digesting gluten containing products can change their diets to reflect how badly they react to gluten. If they have minor problems such as gas or bloating, then limiting the grain products may help. If they have true celiac disease, there is no choice in treatment except to remove any and all of the gluten products from your meals.

You will need to create vegetarian gluten free recipes that do not include any wheat products, rye, kamut, barley or oats. There are many replacements that can be used. You can use corn based tortillas instead of those made with flour and you can still use pasta that is made from rice or corn, you can even use quinoa pasta. Tamari sauce, wheat free, can be used for flavoring. You can use grits for a morning cereal item or even use it to thicken other dishes. Brown rice is nutritious and tasty and you can mix many other items with it. There are even thickener products that can be used such as arrowroot and potato and corn starches.
