If you are looking for a method to make for your next holiday meal I have some delicious Christmas side dishes that will blow you away! I've decided to reveal my underground Superstar Broccoli-Cheese Casserole to the rest of the world.
It doesn't matter if you are having the traditional lamb meal or even a tasty country ham, this side dish will in effect be a real crowd favorite! Of procedure it doesn't hurt that your kids will love it as well. We all know how hard it is to get your children to eat their veggies. So without additional ado, let's start right away with your ingredient list. These amounts should feed 6-8 people depending on if they are normal or in effect big eaters.
Vegetarian Dishes
You'll want to get:
* 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
* 1 cup mayonnaise
* 1 egg, beaten
* 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
* 3 (10 ounce) packages icy chopped broccoli
* 8 ounces shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
* salt to taste
* ground black pepper to taste
* 2 pinches paprika
That shouldn't break the bank and you can use fresh broccoli instead of the icy as well. And while I wouldn't, you could even use low fat mayo, as well, I suppose.
And now for the preparation:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x13 inch baking dish.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together condensed cream of mushroom soup, mayonnaise, egg and onion.
3. Place icy broccoli into a very large mixing bowl. (I like to use my large stainless steel bowl to mix this method thoroughly.) Break up the icy broccoli. Using a rubber spatula, scrape soup-mayonnaise combination on top of broccoli, and mix well. Sprinkle on cheese and mix well. Spread combination into prepared baking dish, and smooth top of casserole. Season to taste with salt, pepper and paprika.
4. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour in the preheated oven.
This one will in effect wow every person at the table. You may want to print out this method as I warrant every person will want to try it for themselves. Next up, more Christmas side dishes so stay tuned.
